Hip Hip Hooray! It's Braces Day!

Well the time has come. Nick got his braces on this morning. We had to be there at 8:30 today. Needless to say, he didn't have to go to school this morning. He did great! At 10 after 10, they were on and we were on our way out the door. He said they weren't too bad. So, I took him out to lunch. Well, that was a little different. They had put little bits of cement on his back teeth to keep him from closing his mouth completely because his top teeth cover his bottom teeth. So, he can't really chew very well. If you look at the picture, they put clear brackets on the top, so all you see is the wire that goes across his teeth. As the day wore on, his teeth began to feel sore. Tonight he says that it feels like all his teeth are loose and sore. I think he is not going to feel so great tomorrow. But he came through it like a trooper and I think he will be happy with the result. Unfortunately, that won't be for 2 years. Say cheese Nick! This is the shirt they gave him after he was done today. He refused to put it on. I think it's kind of cute with the crocodile on it. It kind of looks like Nick, all grumpy.
